2017 BRZ VORSHLAG/PURE AUTOMOTIVE LS SWAP

Finally! The swap begins. This is an LSX/T56 swap into a BRZ using Vorshlag Motorsports LS swap Hardware as well as Pure Automotives MOTEC plug and play LS swap computer and wire harness. @Pure Automotive @modernbeat @Fair!

Sold the motor so might as well start.

Transmission crossmember mount was pretty tough to get out

The shifter mount and drive shaft center bearing mount came out super easy. Used an air chisel. Cut them out with the chisel and then chiseled out the left over spot welds

With the tunnel cleaned out, the front subframe is next

Need to remove these engine mount pads from the subframe, grind the welds, smooth it out then bolt up the mounts

Something like this

Need to pull the center console and front seats to start drilling holes. Transmission mount goes here. Mount brackets are located in place with the single bolt from the bottom for the plastic under body covers...should make things easy...easier.

Here is what’s going in. Texas Speed 418ci making somewhere between 600-700 hp. And Vorshlags specified version of the T56 magnum XL

Car already has. A Fullblown Motorsports Ford 8.8 rear end

Vorshlag also supplied the clutch hydraulics which look really nice, the slave cylinder even has a nice coupler to make removing the transmission easier.

Adjustable Tilton clutch master cylinder

Engine mount brackets bolted on

Yeah man! Thanks to you answering all my questions, saving me a ton of time not having to figure out how so many different parts go together!

I’ve been waiting too! Haha. Still waiting on the headers, which may be here in December?

Since I sold the motor, I figured now is as good a time as any to get started and at least I can have plenty of time to get all the other details handled exactly the way I want.

I see a lot of folks going with TSP engines, I'm looking at them as well. Can you share your build list/specs for the TSP engine? Also can you share the part number for the T56 Magnum XL? Looking nice so far!

The transmission, I’m pretty sure, is some kind of custom order, but here is the tag on the box it came in. It’s chevy in the front and ford in the back as far as I can tell.

This is the engine package I started out with, I changed a few things (intake, cam, skipped the computer and harness since I knew I was doing the motec)

Though mine is a 418 (light overbore I think) and mine has a compression ratio
of 11.25...seems like they’ve changed it up a little.

https://www.texas-speed.com/p-3584-t...y-package.aspx

Texas Speed has a pretty good track record from what I seen online...my other choice was MAST but it would have been another $10k or so.

Would love to.... but I’ll be jumping for joy if I even have the headers by then! I still need to ship them to swaintech to be coated...and then finish assembly and then tune...so realistically, I expect to be driving it sometime in Jan/Feb.

Really want to see your car in action too!
