450+whp and creeping towards 20,000 miles daily driven on a stock engine. Maxed out gtx28 almost hit 400wtq but eats transmissions pretty rapidly with no cheap option to hold more power. I also just did a transmission around Christmas in a car that made 350whp. He blew up 4th gear too just like all the 400+hp shops that are racing.

Buy the way look at the power to weight ratio of a 450whp frs vs a few cars costing double that. I wouldn't go sti unless I was playing in the dirt.

I didn't even know this Greddy stroker kit was out already. Has anyone ordered/installed it yet?

Check out Crawford motorsports brz on YouTube. During the video, he says that is his daily driver. It is a fa20 with a lot of modifications but it makes 450hp and 500lbs tq (I may have that backwards). Crawford said he used the same turbo on an sti engine as the fa20 and the fa20 just wanted to make more and more power. He quoted it as "happy to make more power".

After much reading and discussion I am now looking at the PTuning turbo kit. I would be looking to get around 300-350 whp. Does a turbo generally put less strain on an engine long term?
Also, I read somewhere you cannot run headers with a turbo. Is this true?

Several turbo kits require special header to hook up to the turbo directly. Ptuning, as far as I know, only has a turbo kit.

I personally am in the process of getting the Jackson racing installed. Reason I picked that kit is the lack of reported issues. Each kits has had their failures, but I've heard of less with Jackson racing. Best to look in the owners threads for first hand experiences.

They say it does put strain, but I feel like if you watch how you drive and take care of the car well with maintenance then it should be fine. Usually turbos come with headers, it depends on the kit really.

@Chad86 100% depends on the tune and power numbers..

Virtually all turbo applications require turbo manifolds, thus safe to say no NA headers. SC applications don't work with exhaust gasses so all NA headers work with that type of FI

I'm boosted at 308whp with 81,000 miles on my car. Not a single problem besides some silicone sealant over the camshaft position cover blowing out and creating a very slow leak. Other than that, stock internals holding up really well from everyday hard driving and clutch dumps. lol

60,000 boosted miles total.
