what to add on to my muffler delete
disclaimer: I'm a complete noob when it comes to cars. (i was quite proud when i installed my muffler delete myself )
Hey Guys, So I have the berk dual exit muffler delete on my FRS and I wanted to get some aftermarket exhaust parts. I can't for the life of me figure out where a cat pipe/front pipe etc would connect to my muffler delete. I would assume its the midpipe? Where would a downpipe connect to? here is the diagram i've been looking at to figure out how all this stuff works. Any recommendations are welcome...i would prefer a piece with a resonator as my muffler delete's drone is almost unbearable at the moment. |

Well you removed the part of the exhaust that brings down the DB level and doesn't change power gains that much. Should of got some mufflers and a header w/cat delete. Would of still been loud and made more power... Your in for a world of rasp n exhaust tickets.

Congratz on your install thats a great feeling !
your next step could be a drop in and search for a Midpipe( i don't know many companies that make them.) After that add a HiFlow front pipe or a Catless Front pipe (depending on preference on how loud & Raspy) after that go for a tune and you'd be set for a while

Berk is modular so it will bolt on to aftermarket pieces
Correct you will need a midpipe. I think we are the only one that makes a midpipe Only way to lessen the drone is to add a resonator to your berk. Or change them to these muffler deletes |

What you're thinking of is the front pipe, which is the part after the header and overpipe. An aftermarket over pipe and front pipe with a resonator or high flow cat would give you essentially a header back exhaust. The mid pipe doesn't make a huge difference (from what I've seen) but if you have the money...SMS has a good point, a drop in air filter from K&N, HKS, Perrin, Works, or Zeta would give you a little more power too for cheap.
TL;DR: spend your money on drop in air filter, over pipe, and front pipe. I believe Nameless has an Over pipe/front pipe combo which would be a great option too. Good luck

From what i've been reading here on the forums, members are saying that intake's aren't worth the cost per HP gains...I was thinking of just getting a a drop in filter from K&N (which I can get for a discount because my buddy is a sales rep there). Thoughts? |

What resonator would you all recommend for this application? I am getting the Berk muffler delete as well, and I was just wondering in case I decide to go the resonator route to keep the drone down...I really don't even know where to start (like what size, length, ID, manufacturer, etc)

This is the setup I'm going for on my FRS.. I think it sounds absolutely awesome and would cost less that 500 shipped
