Phone Holder for FR-S Middle Console
I've designed and created a personal phone holder that fits in the useless rectangle in the middle console of the FR-S. I've had trouble finding a good place to put my phone to use GPS and control music, so I made this.
If a decent amount of people are interested in them, I'm looking to sell them to anyone else who could use one! Let me know if you're interested below. I have several different designs and this is just a special one with low density hex filling. The example is also a low quality test prototype. Also I'm fairly new here, but I have a black FR-S with a custom amp/subwoofer addition and custom footwell lighting! Here are some pictures: |

I'm bad. I've got a suction cup mount on the passanager airbag area. Tilted so it's easy to see the screen while driving. I have an NFC sticker to connect the Bluetooth in this area. I wanted to put the mount on this area but its too small.

The basic design is nice, but it looks like it would be difficult with a 6mt.

I like the idea, but it wouldn't work with my BRZ since my heated seat controls are there.

I was also having trouble finding a good place for my phone, so I made this: I am NOT making these or selling them, but I wouldn't object at all to someone using my design or improving on it. |

I'm fine without an actual place for it. The small crevice between the middle compartment and the cup holder tray works fine for me. If I want luxury I'll bring out the Lexus.

^ This is where I keep mine, if I understand what you are describing, and I have it connected via Bluetooth. That tiny little slot is still accessible with the Zeta armrest and it's a perfect fit.
Still, props to the op for ingenuity! Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk |

Have you guys checked out the iMagnet? I use it in the little triangular window at the front of driver side. I have a quick write up here where i use it for my OFT. I typically put my nexus 5 here, albeit in landscape.

By the way, I noticed that you had your cable hanging in the front of the dash. I have the cable for mine dressed behind the dash so that it comes out of the gap behind that little panel between the dash and the door. That panel comes off easily and gives you access to the area behind the gauge cluster, and putting it there allowed me to be able to open and close my door without removing the cable. The OFT cable looks too big to run there without some cutting, but a small notch out of that panel should give you plenty of clearance to dress that cable out of your way. Eventually I'm planning to run my cable into the door and out the little hole at the top of the door panel so that it's dressed and hidden all the way up to the mount. |

Love the tablet how did you do that??? is there dedicated software for it then plug into the OBDII port? I'm familiar with rooting droids but never really looked into live engine software like that. That sir is sick |

http://torque-bhp.com/ You don't actually have to root the phone to use Torque, but I am using a couple of other apps for startup and shutdown that need root access to work properly. You can use Torque on just about any Android device, rooted or not. It not only gives you engine monitoring, but it will also run emissions checks to show you whether you'll pass inspection if you live in a nanny state, and it will read and clear codes if your check engine light comes on. Torque connects to the engine via a Bluetooth OBDII adapter. I have used this one: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/BAFX-Products-Bluetooth-diagnostics-Android/dp/B005NLQAHS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398799050"]BAFX OBDII Bluetooth Adapter[/ame] But I'm now using this one: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H9S71LW/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1"]ScanTool 427201 OBDLink LX Bluetooth OBD-II Scan Tool Interface[/ame] The first one is pretty cheap, but it worked just fine. I bought the more expensive one because it has an automatic shutoff to save the car battery. There are even cheaper ones available and some low-profile ones that don't stick out as far. |
