Disregard. It is coming from the rear, but only between 70mph and up. Going to set up an appointment with the dealer

UPDATE:

The dealer that claimed to have fixed mine said that they have posted this to some Toyota Service reference so that all dealers can access it. Apparently they were the first to fix this issue, and now everyone can use it as a reference.

Trying to get the tracking #, or issue #, or whatever their code is so no search is needed for other dealers to look it up.

That sounds very much like the noise I'm hearing. I noticed it happens more often during acceleration and deceleration also. I didn't mention that in my original post because it didn't make sense to me, but if you noticed that too, I guess it probably is true.

FYI - I took my BRZ to Annapolis Subaru for its 3000 mile service last weekend. They hadn't heard anything formal from Subaru about the issue. They also said they'd need some time to figure out what what was up, so I just bagged it and went home. Going to root around in there today and see what I can find.

How many miles did they put on your car to find what was wrong?

Funny you should ask that.

They knew what was wrong off the bat b/c I submitted OP's post.

Yet somehow they test drove my car for 25mi. While this may not sound like a lot, in perspective, and in downtown San Francisco, it's the equivalent of a Ferris Bueller's Day Off run with it.

I'm actually really pissed, and planning to go in first thing Monday to demand some reasoning.

A couple times around the block is plenty to diagnose this issue.

EDIT: Forgot to say, THE NOISE IS GONE! FIXED! Will get all info Monday.

I would be happy with 25. They put 80miles on my car saying they had to take it to the highway and test drive it ever time their tool or something stupid.

That's nice! You're finally freed from the annoying noise. I can't wait until all info on Monday. I want to be freed from the annoying noise too.

Apparently they didn't "Post" anything to any Toyota Service boards, but the following information should help dealers look it up. They can ask for the TAS# and get the info from that.

Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for the info!
That should help many of us getting this fixed.

***** EDIT *****
I updated my first post to add TAS#.
Thanks again
