I read somewhere this morning that they think the train was going 81 mph. Looks true.

I am currently 14 minutes away from home. I can't remember the last time I was this excited to be on my way home.

No. Because when the 20 parties involved are forced to foot the bill for all the material and personal damage caused by failure to adopt the tech, voila, the numbers suddenly make sense.

You talked like it was a for sure thing? Now only considering? You know, you can't change women as easy as phones or exhaust. Seriously consider until you are sure.

It was all freshly laid track with long stretches designed for high speed. We don't know if there was any showboating involved but it's easy to see how someone both unfamiliar and inattentive could easily burn that corner. Track makes a sharp 'S' at the end of a loooooong straight.

Hindsight is always 20/20. And that doesn't change the fact that each party is going to want others to pay for both damages and improvements.

This isn't the first train to derail due to speed in recent years, and I'm not entirely sure what solution came out of the last one.

I mistyped. What I meant to say was, I'm fairly certain I've only talked about getting engaged since after I was home last. Not moving too fast on this, as I want to get it as close to perfect for her as I possibly can.

Hindsight? Please. For YEARS I've been going on about *leftist political regulatory opinions redacted* ...directly in the public interest.

And that's all I've got to say about that.

I totally agree. My guess is that the engineer was cooking along about 70+ mph when he hit the 30 mph curve. I don't see why it's gonna take that black box years to tell us that ......

If that was the case ...... and they keep yapping about "positive train control" ..... hell, all it takes is for the engineer to pay attention to where he is and what he's doing ......!!

Right? I'm not so much advocating for PTC as much as enacting and actually enforcing regulations in the public interest.

I typed an awful lot in my earlier post but,... you know,... rules and all.
