Keep in mind that the discount is pro-rated based on how many km's you got out of them, so if you're at 34k then you're not getting much discount at all.

Nice one.

Would this work at Costco in CA too?

Also, would this work every time you need to get new PSS's? (i.e.: would this work getting a 2nd set of PSS tires after the initial/first PSS set gets worn down to the bars before 35k??)

Depends on what the treadwear warranty is on the PSS, it likely varies by model.

I've never bought tires at Costco. I find Costco to charge more for their tires.

Manufacturer Warranty:
Primacy HP = 35k
PSS 30k

Does this mean you can get PSS on the cheap when it's time to replace for life?!?

Good luck all..
Can you please be more specific and tell us what you mean by "it took some time"?

Meaning:
Was it a one day affair and a few hours at Sears... or did you just go in and have them inspect your tires and they called it in (called michelin and michelin approved quickly with no problems) and quickly ordered it... or did they inspect it, then call it in, then wait a couple days or a few weeks for some kind of paperwork/final confirmation/approval from Michelin/manufacturer, and then they finally confirmed an okay to order it?

thanks

Took about 1 hour of phone calls, other customers getting in the way, and "I don't know how to do this let me get someone else to help you".

No problem just make sure you are at the wear bars before you have them look at it. I had one tire that was not quite all the way there and it almost cost me some money.

Can you also confirm that it would not be a problem to go from 17's to 18's with this method?

@SpeedR: I was looking into this on Michelin's website. Did you just go to Sear's or did you have to register your stock tires as the website suggests?

Hmm, so this only works if the pilot super sports you are getting are cheaper than the primacy HP's you're getting replaced by warranty?

So the stock price (215/45/17 Primacy HP) of $185 each (tirerack pricing)
-compared to-
The tires I want price (255/35/18 PSS) of $235 each (tirerack pricing)

Which means this wouldn't work because the ones I want are more expensive?
Or am i doing this wrong...

And the warranty itself (I know this is a bit of a bump, but I've been away).
The "Original Equipment Passenger & Light Truck Tire Owner’s Manual & Limited Warranty" booklet (http://www.michelin.ca/en_CA/assets/...l_Aug_2011.pdf) includes "Misapplication, improper maintenance, racing, underinflation, overinflation or other abuse" as one of the bullet points under "What is not covered".
