I'm so pissed at myself. I just got my new 10 series this past thanksgiving. So I'm still getting use to how low the car is. I drove up a little to far in a parking space and hit a parking curb. I scratched up my entire bottom front of my car. It left a lot of yellow residue and scratches. Just wondering us there anything I can do to get the yellow paint off my car or should I just take it to the body shop?

Is it visible without having to bend down and look under the bumper?

You can get the yellow paint off with a clay bar.

Yeah, I wouldn't even bother fixing it then. I scraped mine a couple times, and it was painful to hear that sound. Its not worth the money to fix it. Just keep driving and have fun.

Also don't pull up so far anymore.

You can use rubbing compound to get most of the yellow paint out. But for all of those deep scratches, they will not go away.

don't pull up so far and if your not sure if you're going to hit get out and check... I actually don't see the need for an entire thread for this.

one thing that bothers me is when I see nice cars parked with their chin resting on a curb in a parking lot...

edit: sorry, small venting sesh

Ah man that sucks and I'm sorry that happened to you - it's asinine that those things are as tall as they are when you only need them to be big enough to feel a bump on your wheels for people that like to park that far forward.

At least most of it isn't visible - for the future, though, this car is very compact and a bit longer in the front, so don't ever try to line your wheels up with the car next to you. If you need to get out and check your clearance then do so, but usually there isn't a need to pull forward much in this car - the back end is so short.

You'll get used to it quickly, but just be careful and take your time until then - or just always back your car in instead. Like a boss.
