I plan on using the stock headunit unless I absolutely have to upgrade. The only open spot on the stock headunit is the RCA cable spot

Looks like you can access the top of the rear struts with your design, clever indeed! You should have put these onto market man looks like you did a great job!!

You've been commenting on my build thread so I thought I'd check out what you had done. These look great. Very clean. I might have to steal some of your ideas like the placement of the terminal cup and the nut plates. You said they were a headache but it really makes the front look clean so I might try that.

Don't use t-nuts, look up hex-drive threaded inserts instead. Put a bit of gorilla glue or PL premium or some other adhesive on the outside threads before screwing it in, and chase the inside threads with a tap to make sure they're clean.

I had issues with the t-nuts, since the rings were made of MDF, the spikes on the t-nuts wouldn't hold them in place well, and in some cases they'd just chew through the MDF and spin. I'd say use @gramicci101 suggestion if you want to use hex bolts, or just go super cheap and use standard wood screws. MDF is just soft.

+1 on the t-nuts

I used t-nuts and now it's impossible to remove my subs... If I ever have to I'll need to drill off the screw heads.

They fit snugly into the little alcoves in the corner, and I'm using a couple small strips of industrial Velcro on the bottom to keep them in place. If I hit a sharp enough rise or a bump that lifts the car I can hear them thump when they settle, but no amount of high G or braking can make them move. I'd like to fasten them into place, but this is working well enough for now.
