Decided to take a break from the good ol' COVID-19 junk food rations I've been eating for dinner. Got 0.8 lb of boneless rib eye yesterday. This was the third time I've used this cast iron pan (I'm a total newb) but I think I pulled it off. First two times I cooked it just a bit too long. The coloring and doneness this time looked more appropriate. You be the judge!

I still had the cast iron out so I decided to see how well it makes a grilled cheese.

For the cheese I used a "chipotle cheddar", and the bread was an "italian country bread" (one of the only normal-ish sandwich breads in stock at the Sprouts grocery store I went to the other day).

Looks like your pan was a bit too hot for bread. Don't stop cooking at home. You'll get better, and save a bundle. Plus chicks dig a guy that can cook. Worked for me.

Lower heat, and sometimes a cover and a little water for steam works great. An upside down metal bowl works, or a cheap wok cover.

So THAT'S what mrs Sapphireho found attractive about YOU - I've often wondered about that -
