well i was thinking rather get aftermarket UEL headers from a subaru thats why i asked, because here in south africa is super expensive to get any parts for a 86/FRS/BRZ..

Has any one had or heard of ISR formerly known as ISIS? Trying to figure is this would be a good buy. They have a good reputation within the 240 community. (Didn't where to post this)

Considering it's just a Over Pipe I wouldn't really think the brand matters much since there only so many ways you can make the Over Pipe.
It matters more for catbacks, front pipes and headers. The only main issue you can run into with the overpipe is fitment issues.
If your on a budget, I'd just opt out for the Tanabe Over Pipe. One of the cheapest and Tanabe is generally a good Japanese comany.

By the way. The 240 community is a bad example of what parts to buy since most buyers are cheap/broke

Thank you. I didn't really think of the cheap/broke part. I'm more concerned in the fitment issue. I have read the DC pipe is longer and makes everything shift over if you want it to fit.

Thank you once again

I have the Tanabe overpipe. Inexpensive, ~$150 and no fitment issues

Using the Tomei EL header and Tomei overpipe. Fitment was perfect. My last BRZ had a Perrin overpipe on it. I agree with other observations, there aren't too many ways to reinvent the wheel with the overpipe. They're all tricky to install, though it's made easier if you can unbolt the motor mount on that side and jack that side of the engine up about 1.5". The heat-shielding on the OEM part makes it incredibly difficult to extricate, otherwise.

Does anyone know which over pipes are 3" with no fitment issues?

I already have FBM turbo with 3" down pipe and JDL 3" catted front pipe, so I need a 3" over pipe.

Can you still fit the OEM splash guard/skid plate on the car with the Tomei EL header?

I took off the OEM heat-shielding and it came out very easily. This was after struggling for 30 minutes.

I don't know about the EL, but the UEL fit perfectly with the OEM skid plate.

Header Overpipe compilation thread

We have done some dyno testing on the header. Most of the power is made at the mid-top end range. The peak gains were 10hp and 6 torque.

Did you make any tuning or you just installed the header?
And which header? Catted or catless?

Can you post the dyno? Any other mods on the exhaust apart header?
