If just want to add front pipe and overpipe, tune needed to avoid cel?
I'm second guessing myself.
This year isn't going to provide me all I need find wise and time wise to go with a header and ecu tek tune. However was thinking of biting some of this off by adding a high flow cat front pipe and overpipe to my existing lachute mid pipe and catback exhaust. I realize without a tube I will not reap full benefits of these added pieces however should see some small gains due to less restriction as well get a slightly deeper tone, which... Is all good. My question is can an individual have everything changed "after" header without tube and have no cel / eng light issues or negative effects? If I need a tune 100% to avoid CEL issues ill simply wait but looking for feedback from folks that have changed out catback, mid, front, overpipe etc. Thanks if you can comment.

no tune needed, and you will not get a CEL. There is no o2 sensor in the front pipe, both are in the header which is why people will throw a CEL when the cat is removed from an aftermarket one.
A tune might help a bit with power but I believe there is minimal gain. You will be fine. |

Tune Tune Tune! no it won't throw a CEL but your missing out big time without a tune. It doesn't take any time either. You can swap headers and program your ECU in an hour or two. Just takes money which you obviously have enough of. Build looks great!

For this reason is why I went with cat on my fa20club header... :/ (When it finally arrives). I wanted my O2's to be as OEM as before. I dropped the 2nd cat on the front pipe.
