I went back and re-read it. You were clear. My comprehension wasn't.

I am still waiting for them to post up the math that proves their theory. I am very curious as to exactly what changes that can be felt but doesn't cause damage.

Well, I'm just finding things to do while procrastinating on changing this wet diaper I see running around here. The indicator stripe isn't all the way blue yet, so I have some time.

I have noticed that if she escapes the changing towel on the bed, while I'm reaching for a new diaper, she does run faster without a diaper than before the change -

It's the same kind that I've mentioned many times. I only claim to feel/hear the result as the oil loses viscosity, not that it is no longer adequate. Big difference.

I'd say it's ok to turn her over maybe a couple times without a diaper but I guarantee that no good will come from letting her run like that.

OK so what exactly are you hearing/feeling when the viscosity drops a couple of percentage points?

Welp, if I had that ability, I would go into the consulting business for the oil companies. Yep, they could formulate different formulations of oil and additives and I would evaluate them. Evaluate them by using the "humfrz bio-seismic scale". Oh yes, the results would quantified and printed out.

I would make a fortune!

Come on. That's a cheap shot. Use 5w30 the next time you change your oil. If you honestly can't feel the difference, then there's no point in discussing it any further because you just aren't that guy.

The majority of people are mechanically tone deaf. There's nothing wrong with that but don't be mean to those who aren't.

Not a cheap shot I am trying to understand what you say you feel or hear. Changing the oil to a whole different viscosity is not the same thing as one that has literally dropped a small percentage due to use. This is why I feel that if the oil has dropped so far in viscosity that you can tell the difference it has to be no longer working properly and is causing damage. Not great damage but damage all the same.
There has to be something that physical that is detectable by anybody even those that are "mechanically tone deaf" for this phenomenon to exist. To say some have it and others just don't get it is a cop out. This is the whole "I really feel that lightweight pulley" thing at a fluid level.
