Borla Header Rattle Noise

Installed my second replacement header and so far all good. No more rattle from the flex area. I will drive it a few more days to see if any problem will come up and will let you guys know. Chris at Borla was so helpful in every way. I even got reimbursed for the 3 gaskets. One of the best customer service so thanks Chris for all the help. Production date on box is 7/11/13.

Myself It will be my third header installation.

It cost about 25$ for the grimmspeed pair gasket for the engine to header flange.

It cost another 20$ for the oem crush gasket between the header and the overpipe.

Unfortunately Borla are currently already out of stock from their last production batch.

The next production run is due for july 12th. So I'm not going to be fix before mid july.

This is amazing customer service! Very impressed

I'm just not sure I personally want the headache of replacing a header 2 or 3 times until I get one that works

i was thinking of getting the borla uel headers for my brz, i just wanted to know if there were any issues and if they are legal to have in california

Borla UEL will absolutely not be legal in CA, or most other states for that matter, as the primary cat will be removed.

Had the same rattle problem....went to fa20 headers and gave my borla headers away to tony at fa20

Mine has started rattling very bad now. I'm going to get a friend to rev the car with the hood up while i try to figure out which part it's coming from. Two of the primary tubes touch each other before going into the collector.. my bet is on that.

One of my flex joints rattles just by knocking it with your hand. Let alone while driving.

Is the flex joint rattle the reason JDL switched to the braided flex joint? Trying to decide which header to go with. Just curious if this is an inherent problem of the flex joint design and if the rattle will come back eventually even after replacement.

My replacement header has also failed with the same symptoms. I have contacted Chris at Borla and hope he can help sort this out.

JDL had the same problem and replaced the headers with the braided flex joints which are great. Borla doesn't give a shit and they'll just mass produce a header till you don't have one that rattles. This is why I never bothered with a cheap header.
