Got to check out the FR-S...

**UPDATED WITH VIDEOS**

Got a chance last night to check out the FR-S in person. Took a few snapshots and got a ride in it. This car is sick (as expected)!

I was torn between choosing the Subaru and Scion, but last night's experience made me reconsider the Scion, as I was worried about the quality of materials being cheap compared to the BRZ. Very relieved to see that the FR-S' soft touch plastics are the same as BRZ. Plus I do prefer the front end, gauges of the FR-S over the BRZ. I actually liked the feel of the cloth seats too. Comfy and supportive.

What's awesome is that test car also had TRD exhaust unit on it and my god it sounded amazing.

Also played with the BeSpoke audio unit which is pretty trick but the UX is a little spotty and the iPhone sync crashed a few times in operation. Of note: the BeSpoke system is not a true navigation system. It piggyback's off the iPhone app and pulls data from the phone. So essentially, you can think of the system as a auxiliary monitor that mirrors the iPhone's screen when the app is running. When your car is parked, you can unplug and play with the app remotely on the phone.

Some pix to share:

Gauges light up beautifully.

The voice prompt was spotty, but then again it could be cause of the ambient noises coming from aroudn the ppl. Also a bummer - the screen is not high-res so the map looks very jagged compared to say... the nav unit in my friend's 4Runner

Yes I sat in the back: All 5'11" of me was able to cram into the backseat and take a joy ride. The guy in front of me is about 5'8" and while my legs are crammed, it's certainly doable to have 4 adults sit in the car but not recommended.

I also recorded a video of the car starting up and revving with the exhaust. I'll upload it after work.

Cool thanks for sharing.

TRD exhaust doesn't really interest me, but it's cool it's there.

I'm more interested in the bespoke system, but wouldn't pay too much for it, as I'd just buy an aftermarket system if it was too much...

Perhaps the difference between TRD USA and TRD Japan (which are different companies apparently?).

so the bespoke HU is just the normal pioneer HU with some software/module tweak.
then Bespoke WILL NOT be the $2k HU option and just a midrange upgrade, which would make it more possible as maybe being a standard HU since its sub-$1k
