If there are any I bet any and all arguments go something like this:

-Twins are slow, CTR is rocketship
-Turbo > N/A
-Handles just as well or better than twins because...NURBURGRING!
-NO TORQUE DIP!!!

I mean, you'd have to be really dumb to think a CTR could corner the same as a twin lol(assuming equal rubber). It can FF drift though... HONDARU DRIFTORU

My dad has a 2017 BRZ series.yellow, and my mom has a 2019 CTR.
My dad says the CTR is incredibly fast, handles fantastically, and is a way better car in every way except two.

According to him the BRZ is way more fun to drive than the Type R, and has much better lumbar support. The ride in the Type R in Comfort mode is similar to the PP suspension on the BRZ. However, the BRZ is nicer for long trips because the seats in the Type-R will give you a sore back after an hour or so.

These are just things I've been told over the phone, I'll post my own thoughts when I visit them (2/3 the way across the country from me) and drive the Type-R.

I've owned my FRS since 2014. I rented a CTR for 5 days. Here are my thoughts.

The CTR engine has gobs of torque, and the engine doesn't run out of steam too early like a lot of turbocharged engines. In stock form it has plenty of power to keep you happy on the streets. There are even times where it's hard to fully wind it out without risking a felony. The car handles amazingly well, even moreso considering it's FWD. I did notice a slight bit of torque-steer but it was minimal compared to cars like my old SRT-4. I never experienced any wheel hop either which was a nice surprise.

The visibility is decent, but the car feels big considering it's a civic. The seating position feels like an economy car, but the seats are great and hold you tight. I didn't really care for the touchscreen radio or the digital gauges. I prefer conventional gauges and knobs.

The car doesn't really make any sounds which is kind of disappointing but easily remedied with an aftermarket exhaust.

Honestly, my number one gripe with the car is the grinding gears which seems like a common problem for the car. Also, the exterior of the car is still not my cup of tea.

Overall I thought it was a great driver's car that can really do it all thanks to the 4 doors and hatch. To be honest though, I'd much rather have a gently used Chevy SS for the same money.

I thought the CTR's looks would grow on me.. After 2 years, seeing it in some photos at certain angles, it passable. It looks more gawdy in person however.. And after over a year since I saw one in person, I saw another one close up again today.. I've given up, it still looks hideous. It can have the one of the best engine in the world, but I wouldn't want to be caught dead in that thing.

This is what I will be looking for in my second car, or if god forbid, I have to get rid of my 86.

Styling is good for me besides the rear end, nothing can really help that, but I'm more obsessed with performance and capabilities so I can look over this.

I'm definitely keeping my eye on the refresh that has been testing at the tracks. It looks like it will be available in yellow finally.
