There seems to be differing opinions. Visconti tried a smaller pulley but wasn't able to get much more out if it. Vortech seems to be working on a stage two kit that gem tells us makes more power then the base kit. What Visconti has said leads me to believe that the super charger is running out of breath and getting outside of it's efficiency island with the smaller pulleys, which has me greatly concerned. But, Gem wont publish a dyno and disclose what other mods have been done, Vortech wont publish an efficiency chart, and Visconti is his typical vague self though these could all be caused by nondisclosure agreements.

I'm waiting to see more results.

So it seems, 3 cars + 3 kits all within a few points of each other.

I had hoped for around 240 whp, but I will say the car feels much faster at 226 whp (260 crank?). I have never driven a turbo car before so I can't really compare it directly. The torque hole is gone, I know I can still see a little dip in the torque chart but I can't feel it like I could before. There is more power at every RPM level, and it really gets moving after 4k RPM.

Breaking my Michelin PSS 17/215/45 loose is not a problem. I am going to have to go to 245's soon. I have no plans to lower at all (I already scrape more than I want) so I am on the lookout for the right wheels to get 17/245/45's flush.

I am going to give it some time to see if it picks up power like my 93 tune did, and I may dyno it again in a couple of weeks to see. I will decide then if I want to go with the smaller pulley. If I get motivated I will do a full write up, but I think F1point4 will be thorough so I'll probably just comment on his review if I have anything to add.

I'm fairly sure its his first time using the launch control. It just has to be raised a bit which is easy to adjust

Looking forward to seeing that, I admit I am highly curious what you have got in there. I am struggling at work today because I want to go drive my car, IDK how the hell you dealt with 4 months.

You might be able to get away with the rears, but not sure you can do that in the front if you intend to keep it square.

If it's all the same to you, I'd consider 245 on 9's in the rear which should be easy to keep flush on stock suspension, and then go 225 or 235 in the front on 8's.

I also would rather not lower my car as NY roads aren't the greatest in the world, and I daily my car in the winter. I ended up with 17x8+42/17x9+35 235/245.

This has nothing to do with the thread other than that being a Vortech unit...

Just a little something to get everyone through their day.

Perrin will be getting the small pulley and map to us so there is definitely more to this story. We'll keep on pushing out numbers and media for a while.

By Thursday the vehicle will be at Texas World Speedway.

Yes, the phenomenon you all are seeing-I can confirm- this is as designed, and expected and per Vortech build spec.
Sorry I cant share more, we need to wait til Vortech is ready to release more information!

Based on my build, however, it is possible run over 9psi psi with a Vortech setup.
I will see what i can do about getting a picture of a boost gauge hooked up..

as other vendors seem to be struggling to get their Version 1 out the door, Vortech is clearly on top of their game plan, so lets see what they release
Thats all I got.
