Got a call from Toyota today 22/2/12

I got a call from Hayden at New Town Toyota today. He called and said that they are ordering cars today. Basically gave me two trim options, a GT and a GTS. And also asked what colour I wanted. So as of now I have ordered a Manual, white GTS. The only sad thing about this news is there is still no price...

Has anyone else heard anything from their dealer??

Cheers

Matt.

Ok so GTS is high spec. HID, sat nav, alacantra, aluminium pedals and door sills, tacho with digital speed display, 17's... Can't remember what else if there was anything...
I mentioned my concerns about pricing and he speculates 40K for the gts. I said if it's more then we will have issues but he said we can talk about that... lol

I think this is just so they can get the correct cars for those who want them rather than making ppl wait our saying here are the cars but we only have these colours/trims??

thanks.

in Australia, the preorder is subject to final price and test drive. so if you are not happy u can still walk away with your deposit refunded.

Yes, Mine called me to say have a look at the options list, there is Base and High spec (he didnt refer to them as GT/GTS).

High spec is:

Leather/Alcantra inserts
Three Spoke Steering wheel
Sat Nav Stereo system
HID Headlights
LED Daytime running lights (I can only assume this means the base model does not get these)
Different 17in alloys
Frameless rear vision mirror
Aluminium pedals and door sills
Tacho with digital speed display

As for price, I was told base model is $39990, with the up-spec being between $5000 and $10000 on top.

I reserved a white GTS manual, but if it is anywhere near $10000 I am pulling out and I hope I get my deposit back.

you ordered at which Southside Toyota? gabba or Mt Gravatt?

i asked Motorama at Moorooka and they said " after spoken to TMCA the information will be release to us in April".......

can you share the name of the sales person you spoke to? i will give him a call.

and i'd assume the $39,990 for low spec includes on road cost?

thanks

ps. i'd personally go for the high spec too.

To those in Australia, out of curiosity, what other cars start for around 40K (in Australia) that also sells in the US. How much is the Impresa for example? And yes, I know you cant direct compare like this but im just curious.

WRX starts at the same price.

MPS 3 (i think you guys call this the 3 Mazdaspeed).

MX5 is at least $4k higher still (a big rip off).
