Precisely. If that passage were tangential to the flow, your logic would be correct and the resonator would create backpressure. But the passage is perpendicular to the flow, and since it is a dead end, as you rightly pointed out, it does not have any real effect on the flow of gasses through the exhaust tubing. When a pressure pulse travels past the opening, part of that pulse travels up the neck of the resonator, bounces off the inside of the chamber and returns to the exhaust tube. The resonator chamber and neck are designed such that the returning pulse will cause destructive interference with a very narrow range of sound frequencies that would otherwise cause drone.

oh i think i see what you saying. so any returning sound pulses can enter the other chamber instead of clashing with another pulse on its way out?

I noticed an awful bend in the mid-pipe just below the rear end, on the stock exhaust. It seems to be notched for clearance, but the rear end should not move in a car with IRS.

I like the HKS Legamax, but would definitely get the "cat back" over the "axle back"

Looks like the axle back will MSRP at $1150 in the US and $1500 for the cat back. It's worth $350 to get that full length mid-pipe (IMHO).

Hopefully, some sales and group buys happen!

Awe man! I am usually a fan of Blitz Nur Spec... but I am NOT a fan of the burnt tips at all.

IMHO that was a major screw up.

I do like those black wheels though. Good amount of spokes: not too few, not too many.

The Blitz system looks like all the other Taiwan/China made products...so the sound will be the same.
Usual pressed lip muffler (not very good for leaks) and burnt tips...not my taste.
