We are working with various manufacturers to figure out a way to keep costs reasonable. That is where we're at right now. I feel like we're close with a few of the vendors; so hopefully, we'll have the first article in 3 or so months for testing.

Busy is an understatement

Thanks,
Eric

Do you anticipate that the wing be available without mounts?

No teasers with the actual prototypes?

This is something we can potentially work out, yes.

We do not have anything to share right now. We didn't have prototypes when we started the thread, which is a good thing as we ended up switching mindsets after hearing what the community was after.

We'll share more when we have more to share, I promise. These things do not just happen overnight, though, or even in a few months. A lot of work, time, and effort goes into such a product.

Thanks,
Eric

No, there is nothing new at this time. I will update the thread when something does come to physical fruition.

What we're looking at right now is a prototype around the end of May, hopefully. *IF* that works out well, we'd probably be able to do a production run by the end of July/August. This is a product/project we're not rushing, so if you're looking for something sooner than August, I would recommend going to another vendor's wing for the time being.

Thanks,
Eric

Yes we ordered the tooling for the prototype. It is still going to be a while out as we will have lots of testing to do even after prototypes arrive.

Exciting update!

This is a photo of the plug (CNC machined from our geometry, the white piece) and the top half of the mold (blue piece).

Thanks,
Eric

For some reason I see a Photobucket usage gauge, instead of the wing profile...Hmmm...

Yeah Photobucket decided to hold everyone's pictures hostage for $400. The 3rd party hosting thing is showing up everywhere

I have updated it to use flickr, I will need a few days to go through all the other photos.

What a poorly implemented change... I received no warning to this change. I hope they change back but I, and I'm sure very many other users, will not be paying $400 for a service that has been free for decades.

Thanks,
Eric

Decades?

Very little that existed on the internet decades ago still exists today. I was writing websites on the internet 20 years ago (decades)... Photobucket definitely did not exist. In fact it hasn't been a thing for even 15 years.

Sorry to be pedantic, but the internet (as you know it) hasn't even been a thing for 3 decades, and as someone that has been on the internet since 1991... I get itchy about these types of generalizations.

And again, you're complaining that a thing that was free stopped being free? What did they owe you again? What was their motivation for continuing to provide you said free service?

Can you tell I still write websites for a living

You have a website... upload your photos there and then point your URLs to that. Then you don't have to worry about this ever again

I think the problem is the lack of warning and the exceedingly high price tag. If I was using it for personal use and hosted tons of pics, and they have me a month or so warning with a much smaller price tag or low monthly fee, I'd be inclined to play ball. Holding people's images hostage is a bad business model
