Thanks for posting this; good to know that the media is on the Canadian Government's a55 for this.
I trust Subaru and Toyota well enough to manage, recall if neccessary, provide TSBs, and stand by their quality products. Hopefully none of us need to go through what that victim in the video went through; that's just brutal.

Good thing we're not dealing with Chrysler... Effin' junk. I bought a used '04 Jeep Liberty in 2008. Shortly after I bought it, I awoke one morning to a blaring horn coming from my driveway. I managed to pull the wires off the horn(s) to stop it. Then I pulled the Jeep into the garage, turned off the ignition, pulled out the key, and sat there wondering why it was STILL RUNNING. I had to put it in gear and let out the clutch to shut 'er down. Then all the exterior lights came on (with the switch off), and would not go out. So, upon checking the interior fuse panel, it was full of water! (we had some pretty good rain overnight) It didn't take too long for me to find the problem... I removed the rubber strip on the driver's side that runs the length of the roof, and found that the roof had separated from the body due to the seam under that strip being completely rotted away AT FOUR YEARS OLD!! I wasn't long getting rid of that POS. Recently, I got a recall notice from Chrysler on the same vehicle. It stated that the vehicle needed to get to the dealer ASAP for replacement of the rear control arms. It seems that they too are rotting away, and could break, causing a possible (LOL) loss of control. Chrysler < poo, and I will never own another one.

My lemon law countdown started last week.
9/19 Delivery 9/21 BRZ won't start. Everything lights up, but does not crank at all. 10/2 Towed into dealer (I was out of town and was unable to find someone who could meet the tow truck driver) Status as of this morning, 10/8 (Day 7) - Dealer is "working with engineering" and has no idea what is wrong and when it could potentially be repaired. Not a happy camper right now. |
