I am shocked how many personal insurance underwriters we have on the board; everyone here sure seems to bring some great advice to the table.

Just call around and ask for a quote, no point in asking anyone on here.

I haven't had the opportunity to sit down with my parents and figure out the prices being put on their insurance plans but when I go online and try to do a quote by myself being an undergrad policy holder my rates are insaneeee. Will being on a plan with my parents as a child driver with good grades change that? Being the child and going online trying to set up the scenario myself is pretty hard
It all depends where you live, insurance company, etc. Nothing anyone here tells you will be very accurate unless they get lucky. If you are serious about getting this car you need to just go to your insurance company and find out.

Being under your parents should be significantly cheaper however

Can confirm red does not cause a higher price. I was quoted at $125 and it stayed at $125 when I officially signed up and told them VIN/color. I personally wouldn't choose red again due to idiots trying to race me 24/7 but that's a different topic for another day.

That has been a common urban ledged for the 40+ years I have owned a car. Every single time I bought a red or some other flashy colour somebody said "Ohhhh I bet the insurance is high with that colour". I get it all the time with the Lava.

Being 17 you will get raped. Put it on your folks policy then get off when you can at a reasonable rate. These care are pretty expensive to insure for young people. I'm an old fart so I don't pay much

Head over to the exhaust section; everyone has 20+ years TIG and MIG welding. Unreal.
