Most cars today have very few fiberglass components.

Take a magnet, show him that it sticks to the car, he can't really argue with that.

Or just tap the sheet metal with a fingernail or listen to the rain hitting it during a storm, it sounds like a tin can.

Well, his response was a simple eyeroll. He really didn't have much to say, and I'm not sure he's convinced. He is a die hard Ford Mustang fan, but he does like the look, fit, and finish of the FR-S.

I'm really curious to know where he came up with the idea that the entire body was fiberglass. Perhaps the curved fenders? It's actually a compliment in a way, as maybe he thinks it's too exotic looking to be made of sheet metal.

I remember being his age and being sure about things. The only reason I decided to debate the issue was that he was being a bit condescending when he said, "Trust me." Also, if in fact the car WAS fiberglass, I didn't want to argue that it wasn't.

One thing about getting older (44 now) is that you learn to allow for the possibility that you could be wrong, even if you don't believe that you are. Helps keep your foot out of your mouth.

Thanks for all of the help in this thread. You guys rock.

Oh jeez. This is just my personal experience, but that demographic always seems to be the most excited about starting arguments, and also the most sure of themselves, regardless of age. But then again, that's the most common breed of "car guy" where I live.

Some of the best advice ever. I think I've finally started to catch onto this within the last few years. Took about a thousand go-nowhere religion/politics arguments on the internet to figure that out, but it's a great mindset. One step closer to enlightenment.

And listening to the Joe Rogan Experience never killed anyone either.

I don't want to instigate nor do I now the type of relationship you have with him but the eye roll things seems kind of disrespectful. I know He is a kid and all but DAMN! Just tell him to join the forum and we will ALL be glad to clear his doubts! jajaja

Well, I found it interesting/useful. I've never seen that exploded view (2nd post) before. I find it interesting that there is no "inner fender" in front of the strut mount tower. I've been wondering since I first noticed it when I got my FRS if all Subarus made this way? I've never seen a Toyota built this way...
