Especially if the wheels were swapped out at the PDI (pre-delivery inspection) with plastic covering on them still and virtually zero use/wear.
Guess it depends on what you work out with the dealer. I would think the actual demand for a set of wheels and tires would be lower for this car. That would be money tied up in parts inventory which they may not want to do.

Dealer email: " buying back the factory 17” rims, cost to you would be around $1800 + tax for the TRD rims, sensor and tires. "

So according to the dealer, if they 'bought back' the stock wheels they would only give me a discount of $700 on the TRD wheels pkg (which in my previous post I stated was coming out to $2500 + tax)

Worth it? Or get it later (and cheaper) elsewhere- like the States?

Buy the rims, then buy the tires you want separately. Swap your sensors to the new wheels.

I'm guessing the trd wheels are heavier?

$2034 for a set of staggered trd wheels?
Possible getting better quality rims from somewhere else at lower price point? :unno:

Can anyone confirm if the RS 1.0 will have NAV / GPS as a standard option (like the Monogram Series did)?

I called Scion earlier and they could not confirm and could not say for sure since that specific info has not been announced or posted yet... And I got the feeling that it would not come standard... Please correct me if I've mistaken.

Thanks in advance...

If I were you, I'd keep the OEM wheels but ask them to replace the tires with a winter set instead (if you plan to drive this in Canada during that season).

Then you just buy TRD wheels and tires separately for your summer setup.

When you get the car, it's probably almost winter, so that's a good plan.

Hey its not as good of a deal if you messed with buying selling everything yourself

BUT

Its convenient and will be ready to go right there at the dealer.

If you messed with selling the factory rims you'd likely not be able to even get $700 for the full set (with brand new tires) or $350 (rims only).
Tons of people are selling the stock rims here, craigslist, facebook, ebay for cheap. I sold mine and eventually had to settle for $350.

I like the TRD wheels.

It comes down to this: Do you want to keep the stock rims for your personal use later or are you going to get rid of them?

If you dont want the stocks then take the deal and dont mess with it.

If you do want the stock rims then dont waste your time with the dealer. Buy the TRD rims from somewhere else and then get your own tires to put on them.

Gotta admit, didnt think of that. Smart.

Btw, I'd love to see your Aozora on the streets. Seen one at a dealer but not yet on the road.

Yeah man I was thinking about getting the RS 1.0, but the yellow and the timing of the car's release didn't work out for me. Not to mention that it's a tad more expensive, especially if adding in TRD wheels too.

Production Date: 08/23/14
Available for Shipment: 08/31/14
Vessel Departure: 09/10/14
Vessel Arrival: 09/22/14

I'm not sure if this is for all the US but, from what it looks like, I wouldn't be seeing mine until the beginning of October.

This data I got from the sales manager, so for anyone who has ordered one should be able to get this information from the dealer. Though, this is here say, until the car arrives in California, you won't have the actual vin, just a temporary one.

When did you order yours? I ordered mine in May.
