One of the tricky things with ice mode is that it doesn't completely kill your brake force, just severely reduces it. Because it only reduces it it can be mentally tricky to pump the brakes.

I propose it be renamed the "Brake Dance" because it involves more than just pedals but both are brakes.

Started using pedal dance last weekend at the track => TC light no longer blinking during my messy trail braking maneuvers..

I just started working on creating an arduino module with 2 relays that will do the "Pedal Dance" for me

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-QHpgRYCZU"]Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ Driver's Aids Defeat Module - Testing - YouTube[/ame]

Next step is to hook it up to the brake pedal switch and e-brake switch.

If it works I will try to fake the temperature sensor readings for a couple of seconds so I don't have to wait for the car to warm up fully.

You could use obd II to read the temp and then run it or something. I still think it is one CAN message that is sent (like a code that tells it to go into this diagnostic mode) once you do the pedal sequence.

Does anyone working at a Toyota/Subaru dealership know if the car can be put in this mode with the diagnostics hardware at the dealership (as in without touching the pedals)?

i seem to have issues activating the pedal dance now. before i could it at will once the engine was at operating temps.

on a recent hill climb event where i did 15+ runs (with breaks in between) i found that the pedal dance activation got harder to do throughout the day. even going for a drive in between runs to make sure the car was warm didnt help.

would the ECU have a limit count on how many times you can do pedal dance in a day?

i do have a forester DIT turbo heat exchanger and i assume this may be keeping the car just below the pedal dance activation temperature.

I think it's the temp. I experimented a few times gradually sneaking up to operating temp. It refused to lock out until the temp gauge got right to that "normal" spot, whatever temp that is. Even shy by an RCH it's no-go.

Finally danced this weekend. It felt good! I'm not sure how much of it was the pedal dance and how much was me having an "ah ha" moment, but I shaved almost three seconds off my best lap time (1:50.5 - 1:47.6 at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park Driver Development Track)! What a damn good day! Thanks, @CSG Mike
