Traffic ticket help

I recently got a traffic ticket, but some of the information on the ticket is wrong. (car color, registered owner, etc). Is there any way I could use those mistakes to contest the ticket? Anyone here have any experience contesting tickets?

Thanks for your help!

Did you break the law? Pay the fine and do traffic school if eligable.

Technicalities dont usually get stuff thrown out, but every judge is different.

If it's a black car and it said it's white on the ticket, then that's a bit weird.

Even if he wrote your car was rainbow colored & your name was Walt Disney it would not be grounds for dismissal of the ticket, they would simply correct it in court.

You would have to pray said officer was too busy to show up..

Pay it

Traffic tickets aren't used to contest the credibility of an officer, especially with tiny clerical errors like color, they will be corrected in court by the judge without dismissal anywho.

You might as well follow the law. Pay the fine.
Otherwise, contest with the police and hope he wont show up.

I know. I was 1 point away from getting my license suspended.

Lawyer up, the govt don't like it when you have a legal team to help you fight your tickets.

FWIW - you can contest the ticket. It's not being dishonest or a jerk. If the plate, car color, make, model, etc. is incorrect then the ticket is incorrect. *EVERY* ticket contesting service, lawyer, etc. will always focus on the details of the ticket and their correctness. So...

If you have time to spare and/or the fine is A LOT, then consider contesting the ticket and simply say to the judge... "The vehicle described on the ticket is not mine."

ATa's Three (Four) Step Guide to Fixing your Car Legal Problems:

(1) Look bro, nobody here can help you unless you discuss the specifics of your case.

(2) You should not discuss the specifics of your case on a public internet forum.

(3) Go get a public defender if your ticket is a misdo or do a trial by declaration if it is a citation. In either case, consult a lawyer if you actually care. The lawyer will cost at least as much as the ticket, and you may still have to pay the ticket.

(4) Seriously consider if you are enough of an adult to own a sports car.

I think others have kind of said this but I'll say it in another way. Some of us have more time than money, and others feel their time is too valuable to use it fighting a petty traffic offense. If you are one of the former, then fight the ticket and try to save your money/record. If you are one of the latter, then pay the ticket and move on.
