So, whats with the new placement for the turbo? Reason's for this? Im sure its cause he can fit a larger turbo there, but hopefully he renew's his vendor stuff so he can tell us whats going on! lol

FA20Club ditched their rear mount turbo too. They also said they could do the rear mount set-up upon request but it would be more expensive (~$500-1000 more) due to extra piping, lines and oil pump.
Front/Top mount set-ups are simpler and in the end cost less. No oil pump/scavenger pump required and shorter lines/piping + a more optimal intake path. One more thing is one member has experienced the stock main cat disintegrate which destroyed his rear mount turbo. This was the original AP kit. |

well damn bro... that does suck. Kinda wish there would be more interest in the style that is located by the battery. I really like that place.

This new style is the best place for the turbo on this car, hands down. Sti and wrx turbo placement is poor and under the car...no thanks.
The cat destroying the turbo was on @cf6mech car. He can shed some light on the subject.

Yep,....cat blew apart and got sucked into turbo, have pictures if anyone is interested,...going catless now and keeping the location of Turbo as is, still prefer its location,..much cleaner looking engine bay, much cooler engine bay temps, easy to,... with just a little sheet metal work,... make a deflector to catch slip stream air from underneath to cool turbo,...plus any weight down low is a good thing. Also I'll be the first one to own Full Blowns billet fuel rails and redesigned fuel delivery to push threw the limits everyone else has on OEM system that runs lean once 500hp is achieved.
