You will probably want to put up the actual brands of parts that were thrown on the car.

Not to knock on your post too hard, but if you want over the price of a new car for one that is used, I would expect top dollar parts on the car and I would definitely expect to see a painted body-kit.

IMO the best bet is to return the car to stock, take your depreciation hit and move on.

I can only assume it was in some sort of an accident, which is why the hood and trunk have been replaced and possibly the bumpers aren't paint matched so he wrapped them instead.

These lack of details is making me assume the worst.
