@tracerit if you retain the factory front pipe and cat-back, a catless header is not much louder than stock during low RPM/load operation. I've also seen some aftermarket front pipes that has some pretty good sound deadening.

@tracerit I think you should listen to the current prototype setup on the CSG BRZ.
PM me to set something up. |

A catless header (in this case the ACE) with stock FP and Stock CB is not loud. I dont see how it would offend a driver, passenger or otherwise.
In fact the the extra volume of sound you get, which is still minimal, fits the performance bump you are adding to the car. I dont know about dB levels. But i am pretty picky when it comes to sound. I dont like having attention on me while i drive, and adding a catless header (OFH,Tomei and ACE...I have had all 3) never made the sound crazy. Adding a catless front pipe with a header....that is a different ball game. In short, I wouldnt let sound levels dictate your purchase of a catless header. It is not worth the headache. That goes double for the ACE. The performance gain is unrivaled IMHO.

I'll echo the above, an ACE header with a stock exhaust system shouldn't sound very loud. The main difference I found was changing the cat back, when I had the ace fitted I also had a Tomei Type 80 on the car, that was stupidly loud.
I then swapped that out for an AVO 2.5" non-res exhaust which is perfect in volume and sound. Its quite when your cruising / day to day. But when you want a bit of noise it comes alive. Your best bet is to get a resonated exhaust with a large rear muffler, like the AVO or Q300.

I have 2.5 resonated perrin with jdl ultra quiet FP with a cat and resonator. The ACE I have is the CS400. It is louder than my set up before which was just the same thing as a header back and only a cat in the front pipe.
It can have a slight drone if you are on the throttle on the highway. It's not even droning, more like making a noise. If cruising, its like stock. The sound is fantastic on WOT. I have become addicted to tunnels. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

We have locked down a design that meets noise and flow requirements. We now need to redesign to make into a smaller package. Shipping costs are outrageous right now.
Production versions will be ready by beginning of 2017 |

Can you give me a ball park idea of how much I should be looking to set aside for this? Are you able to meet the sound pressure level goals of 93 dB with the ACE front pipe and one of your headers? Sound clips? Last edited by Calum; 09-22-2016 at 01:53 PM. |

I got my ACE 350 installed, GrimmSpeed intake, Nameless axleback, stock front and mid pipe. Tuned at PRT Performance made 175 on their Mustang dyno, torque dip gone, car pulls nice and smooth now. It's too loud for my taste so I'm off to find a new exhaust.

So..... Do you have a video or anything? I currently have the Nameless catback on the car and love it. Curious where this sound will go after the ACE if I go this route. Being that the front pipe will be the only stock component. For a short time.
