Tire Slayer LS2 Powered FRS - Featuring APEX ARC-8 Wheels

Many of you may have been caught drooling over ft86club member @spitsnaugle's insanely clean LS2 powered FRS, as his build thread has been ongoing here since June of 2018. Having formally owned an LS-powered 240Z, Joel is quite familiar with the art of tire slaying. This machine quickly became a favorite amongst the APEX staff, and we recently assigned Shutter Fuel Media to capture it in the wild.

Lightweight 17" wheels in a chassis specific width and offset is one of the key modifications 86/BRZ track enthusiasts like Joel count on for maximizing performance, reducing rotational mass, and mitigating the seasonal tire budget. The 17.8 lbs ARC-8 was designed with brake clearance in mind, clearing a variety of big brake kits including the factory Brembo's found on the Performance Package BRZ and TRD SE 86 models.

I love your wheels besides the Arc-8. Not sure how it even got popular. The rest of your wheel line up looks awesome tho.

Really? How come? It’s just a simple classic design. I agree though. I wish we had the whole Apex line up in our specs. Love the designs

I dislike that design style. Just like 6UL wheels. I personally like styles such as as advanti storm s1. I think it flows better with the car. Apex has some killer wheels but only one in our car unfortunately. I really like the 5s they have! I’d buy them in a second if they fit our car.

For sure! I love a good 10 spoke too. I’ve heard about that wheel, but never really looked into them. They come in 17x8 +35 which is perfect. They’re flow formed and in that size, they weight only 17.3 pounds for under $800. And in silver too which is a plus. Kinda surprised we don’t see them that much.

Everyone has different opinions of course, but what I love about our cars is that with the right fitment, color combo, mods etc. you can pull off almost any wheel that suits your taste.
