However, I did get a call a month or so later that offered "three free months if I signed up for one!" So I took them up on their offer. When I called to cancel after month four, they told me my account history said I had agreed to three free months if I signed up for three, to which I said "uhhhhh nope." They said it must've been a misunderstanding and offered me another three months for free.

If anything, I can definitely say about Sirius is that I got a ton of free time, and every time I had to call they were courteous and helpful.
I honestly don't think they monitor these things. I have XM in all my vehicles. When my FR-S came, I transferred service from my Tundra to the new car. That was almost 4 months ago, and I still have service in my Tundra. I check my account every month to confirm I'm not paying for service on my Tundra.

I reported this issue a long time ago. I even reported it to Sirius and they laughed at extending my traffic. I then complained to subaru and they swapped out my NAV lol. So I'm in month 7 of owning my car and i still have the free xm and traffic....

I received the letter yesterday and it stated both radio and traffic were extended. I created an account on their site and checked it it does say both are extended for me. So for those that aren't sure, check your account.

I haven't been too impressed with NavTraffic. It seems to lag behind the actual traffic conditions. Unless they can get it more accurate, I'd rather do without it.

Is this just on the Sirius website? I don't have any kind of account that I know of...

Yes. You have an account, it was created for you when you purchased the car. You just have to register for the account with your VIN, account #, or radio ID.

Wonder if their Traffic nav is like any other GPS unit, as there are a lot of areas that don't even have traffic available like a Garmin or Tom-Tom unit.

There's an icon on the GPS toward the right side that you can tap and get traffic information if your NavTraffic subscription is active. It looks like a radio tower. I'm not sure if it only appears when you have an active route or not or how to describe it better than that since I'm going from memory.

I drove 1800 miles a few weeks ago with the nav traffic trial on. It is useless. In many areas it kept repeating "traffic jam ahead" when there was very light traffic. I didn't get a single bit of useful information from it and the 2 traffic jams I did hit it had no alert for.

That echoes my experience with it on the day I picked-up my BRZ.

Yea, stupid question, is NavTraffic limited to certain regions? I've tried everything I can think of and still can't quite figure out how to get it active.

It is only active in urban areas for the most part. It would always be active but only receives data when certain areas. As far as it not reporting accurately, this is the same data that most other services get, so it is only as good as the input data from the traffic companies compiling the data.

Sounds like it is perfectly paired with the stock nav unit, then. I'm pretty certain that my daily drive to work is through awful traffic anyways, so I don't need my radio to remind me while I'm sitting there.
