Depends on the places you want to work. From a "desperate and need work" level, you should be able to find a job; Austin is fast becoming a hot-spot for IT and development work. Competition-wise, it depends. A lot of start ups are in Austin, so age can be seen as a deterring factor; however, there are a lot of more "traditional" companies like IBM, HP, etc. that may be more inclined for experienced hires.

Like someone else mentioned, it will be difficult to hit your price/size range on housing in that location and with that sort of school quality requirement. I've lived in North and South Austin. South is a bit more... "cul-de-sac," and outdoors-y for lack of a better term, while North still gives you a bit of that city living experience being close to Round Rock, Pflugerville, etc. Unfortunately though, if you work downtown or have to commute, you will have to join all the other working people that do the same

I completely didn't realize how long these races were when I bought my Sunday ticket. Wanna have a little corgi puppy join you for a few hours? LOL (jk)

First race for me, too! I'm at Turn 4 Row 8 on Sunday.

If I've net your dog and it got along with the frenchie I wouldn't have minded. Next year I'm just having the dog go to doggy day care during the race.

You will have a blast at the F1 race. This is my second F1 race. I will be roaming around going to various grandstands/turns. For the race I like to stand in the tower to see the whole track, tv etc. Be prepared for high high prices for everything. For F1 they jack the price up more so then the other races.

We should probably just make an official meet out of it next year, buy tix as a group etc.

After I saw the parking lot prices, I expected this. That's why I'm taking any money I save from using the shuttle into buying a hotdog or small Coke

Jyn, what was the place you were saying to take a slightly scuffed wheel to? Hoping he can fix my RP03 that fell on its face on accident. Enkei SBC I've heard is hard to replicate. The damage isn't too bad though.

THere are plenty of 20 dollar parking lots around the track. I did the off site parking for COTA its like 1mile away, was 60 bucks for all three days.

Hmm really? How was traffic? That sounds pretty cheap compared to the shuttle option.

The traffic down town is aweful. I liked parking closer and jumping on tolls to get where ever I needed to go. The shuttle from downtown adds a long time. Expect to take 90mins after arrive on site or more before you make it to the track. Not to mention they drop you off a mile or 2 from the track.

I think I'm taking the shuttle.

The company I work for has a booth - I got lucky and won two tickets for Saturday (what I'm calling "moocher tickets").

There's also a Jalopnik meet-up Friday that looks mighty tempting.

My neighbor is friends with the Sustainability Director at CotA, so we scored a pair of General Admissions for Sunday. I guess I'm going too, but we will probably take his Miata up to the track.
