LOL when I research something I sometimes tend to go overboard and research the shit out of it.

Thanks, T. Having the charts is great. Notice that for 2014, there is Sterling Silver Metallic D6S (my color, a sort of sparkly aluminum), which is not available in 2015-16. I guess it's possible someone wanting to get the same factory color from 2014 might choose Ice Silver Metallic G1U (called Steel on the FRS) from the similar names and look. But, because of the different alpha-numeric code, it would turn out to be a sort of Arctic ice blue. And nobody would want to repaint their rear end that color if the original was the other one.

It's just color-matchers beware, that's all.

"I heard you bought new wheels! What color is it?" "Yuzu, of course!"

I haven't tried track yet, but will at some point if I start reaching the limits of standard.

On paper, the updates between 2016-2017 might look small, but I can tell you right now, the car is punchier, better suspension feel, better acceleration... and with the tyres it's transformed into something magical.

I was blown away with the fun I had in the 2016, but this just feels like a slight upgrade everywhere. 2x thumbs up.

how long did you have the previous one for? how many km did you put on?

I agree on the '17 MY car being punchier and better acceleration. I've done some canyon drives (videos in my link below) with driving impressions, as well as racing the car twice now. Biggest differences for me are the drive train, shifting is smoother all around, and the gearing (better accel'). On the autocross courses, the car feels nearly identical to my '13 FRS from a suspension/handling standpoint (granted I have all aftermarket suspension, not stock).

The rs3s were cheap too - $200 fitted and balanced... which in Australian money is cheapish.
Any idea if a square setup of the 57Transcend at 18x9.5 wrapped in 245/40 will have any clearance issues? Suspension is all stock. I like the concavity of the 9.5 but seller is suggesting against it. Telling me to go staggered.

I'd go square every time unless I was pushing HUGE horsepower. (I'm at like 285rwhp).

I expect you will have clearance issues with 245 with stock on the fronts.

My car is 235 on 18x9.5 all round.

Really? Driving my camry/corollas and company yaris on the limit (terminal fwd understeer) is much more dangerous than brz on the limit.
There are a lot of "hectic" to drive V8s here that easily break traction on wet roads , so much so , that many people won't drive them if it's raining.
