What a difference it makes!

Stock setup:

Kosei + Michelin PSS (225/45/17):

5 pound difference per corner!
20 pounds shed total which equates to roughly 400lbs shed of the car!

Do you know the bore on the K4R? I have these and the hub rings that Tire Rack provided are plastic. I want to find better rings. I know the FR-S is 56.1mm. I can't find the data anywhere!

Definitely doesn't equate to 400lbs but I like those wheels

I just installed my Kosei K4R 17x7.0 and 215/45R-17 Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Specs.

The light-weight wheels are immediately noticeable and these tires grip fantastically.

Looks great. Can I ask why you went with the narrower version?

Thanks. I bought this tire/wheel combo primarily for autocross.

To stay in street (stock) class you need to keep the same wheel diameter and width as stock within a 6mm offset. This means 17x7 with an offset between +42 and +54.

These are the lightest wheels that I liked that fit my budget. They feel great and honestly I could feel a difference even before I left the driveway.

The rings that Tirerack ships with them say 73.0mm, but 73.1 would be the more common size. I haven't tried rings other than the ones TR sent with them though.
Mine show 5x114.3 stamped near the rim, but it looks like the spacing is 5x100 and the sticker shows 5x100. Maybe they use the same cast and drill them out differently depending on the needed pattern.

Just got my Kosei K4R 17x7 +50 with 225/45/17 MPSS from Tire Rack and they're also stamped 5x114.3

I think everyone I've seen has been stamped that way and you're probably right about them using the same mold and just drilling them differently depending on the pattern needed.

Before you left your driveway? They handled better in your driveway? Is your driveway a mile long? I don't follow.
