OFT v2.0 Stage 1 93 Octane in Canada

Do you guys use 94 Petro canada gas? It has up to 10% Ethanol
Is it good enough for this OTS map or should I use 91map?

I've always found that the Petro 94 gas in Canada to be pretty poor. So I would start off with the 91oct map and make sure that logs look good. If they show knock, I would even consider trying a lower octane 91oct fuel not from Petro.

I run Shiv's Map for phantom supercharger on Husky 94 and i have NEVER seen knock under load.

Occasionally you get .6 of correction on tip in but i think everyone gets that.

Usually it runs about 27 degrees of timing under boost and everything is A-OK.

I'm rocking the 91 map and pretty much always use Esso.

Runs nice and smooth, and mo' powah for sure.

I have run petro 94 exclusively in my car for 2 years, no issues. Currently on the 93oct 2.0 map with no knock, never reduced timing and the fuel trims hardly move.

If e85 is 104 octane and Petro is 91 octane can you blend the two (say 75% 91 and 25% e85) to make 95 octane gas ? Would this work and be safe (a/r ratio is different for e85) ? If it worked this would work out to be cheaper then buying Chevron 94 .

Funny, I've found (based on IAM) that Shell 91 (on a 91 octane tune) is WAY more knock prone than Petro 94 (on a 93 octane tune).

My IAM was constantly down to like 0.5 from midrange knock on a 91 tune, but stays pegged at 1 with a 93 tune.

Some logs, mostly mixed driving to probe for midrange knock.

@wparsons that's funny, I was going to mention you in my post as we're in the same area, but your IAM is always dropping on 91 and mine is rock solid on 94

I feel more confident in how it runs (based on logs) on the 93 octane tune with petro 94 than on the 91 octane tune with shell 91. So much so that I'll take the slightly worse mileage (I've always had slightly better mileage on ethanol free 91 than petro 94) and constant crickets.

91 logs:

http://www.datazap.me/u/wparsons/jul...og=0&data=1-12

http://www.datazap.me/u/wparsons/apr...log=0&data=1-8

Compare those to the 94 logs I posted above, I could never keep the IAM at 1 on 91 tunes.

Here is a log I made the other day with the OFT 2.01 tune (Stage 1 - 93 oct) and a bit of MAF rescaling. This is with Husky 94. This tune seems to be performing well on that gas, not sure if Petro Can would be much different, but I don't have it around here.

Have you logged IAM, FLKC and Knock Correction to see if you're getting any knock at part throttle in the 2500-3500 rpm range? I get a lot of knock in there on shell 91 with a 91 map, but it's fine above 4000rpm at WOT. I found that it's the worst when stuck in traffic.

On the 93 map with petro 94 there's no knock at all.

Husky 94 has a lot better knock resistance, we have tested it on the dyno at airboys all the Evo X guys use 94 husky with better results then petro 94.
