EvasiveMotorsports Testing Out New OS Giken Clutch and LSD
New OS Giken Products
We at @Evasive Motorsports is testing out and doing R&D on the newly developed OS Giken GT2 Grand Touring Clutch and LSD. The Grand Touring Clutch is the latest development to our clutch lineup and retains all the technology from our Racing Multi-plate Clutches, but with the addition of our unique “floating pressure system” to provide a smooth and chatter-free driving experience. The Grand Touring Clutches are available in single. Twin plate configurations are still under R&D. OS Giken has design these clutches and can be matched with a soft or hard clutch cover to suit the engine output. With a OEM pedal feel and the ability to hold up to 400hp making it suitable for both street and track cars. Evasive Motorsports is also working with OS Giken to work on the LSD prototype and testing out preload settings. For the final revision for consumers. We will be testing at Sonoma Race Way and Laguna Seca Race Way. Technical Aspects OF OS Giken Clutches -By combining a decreased disk diameter (vs OEM) with a solid design and carefully selected components, our clutch allows for extremely efficient power transfer and improved engine response. -Our specially designed clutch cover contains a unique leverage mechanism for the diaphragm spring, resulting in a higher clamping load of the clutch disk(s) while reducing pedal effort. -Integrated ventilation holes reduce heat generated inside the clutch system and allow for friction plate dust to exit outside the clutch system, thus increasing reliability and safety. -Both the clutch components and the flywheel are constructed using the same specialized steel alloy to ensure similar heating characteristics across the assembly to minimize warpage and increase durability. The OS Super Lock LSD is the culmination of over four years of extensive research and development that led to a revolutionary LSD design with the capacity to house an unprecedented number of friction plates (up to 28 plates in total). Combined with our patented lock timing system, the Super Lock LSD is able to achieve complete lock in a progressive, smooth, and quiet manner, making it suitable for both street and racing performance. Torsens become open diffs if one wheel loses traction; they only work when there is resistance.
A Clutch type will always work. There's a lot of situations where you'll lift a wheel on track or when you're driving hard/fast, and this'll keep the power going to the ground, instead of spinning one tire. |
