Looks like he may have left the country and never come back :P.

His last post was in October.

I'm curious as to why he said "1300hp capable", when you don't rate transmission strength by HP but by torque.

and HP and torque are unrelated are they?

HP is just a mathematical equation. Look at rotaries, all hp no torque but put the same tranny behind a duramax bye bye lol

Engines produce torque. Horsepower is a function of torque. Hp measures work done (if it doesn't move, no work was done, even if effort was applied), whereas torque is what (in this application) applies the effort to accomplish the work.

Even if no hp was put to the wheels, the transmission could still have torque applied to it that it has to be strong enough to take.

So, torque is the measurement of the transmission than hp.

You could have 300 hp or 400hp, but depending on the engine, the torque could be identical. The transmission only cares about torque.

I guess no one got the sarcasm. I know that HP is a factor for torque. Therefore it is not THAT unreasonable for a transmission to be rated by HP.
