Defeating Occupant Detection Sensor
This is something that's had me scratching my head for a while now, and I may need to deal with sometime in the future.
First of all, if you're not familiar with the occupant detection sensor, you can read up on it here (thanks Turbowned!)... http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=399622 So here's my question: for purposes of installing aftermarket bucket seats, has anybody figured out how to bypass this system, and still have the passenger airbags work properly? I thought things were bad enough when they started putting weight sensors under the seat, but this... I just can't figure a way around it, short of tearing both seats apart and incorporating the wiring and sensors into the new seat, and praying the new upholstery doesn't interfere somehow. |
