Toyota 86 at a dealership in Montego Bay Jamaica
My wife thought I was gonna lose my mind when I got close to the car.
This was my first time seeing one in person. My expression should speak for itself. I vow that before I leave this earth a pearl white version of this beauty shall be mine! |

Actually the one in the pic was a fully loaded manual version.
Leather heated seats and push button start. I personally plan to buy a basic version and add rims, kit and spoiler. I am not a fan of leather seats, I don't mind turning a key and Jamaica is not the kind of place you need help keeping warm Last edited by RyPaul; 01-03-2013 at 09:40 PM. |

That car through an official dealer is likely VERY pricey. I bet you can get a gray market for a fair chunk less.

Jamaica like most places has it's share of criminal elements. As with many things in life nowadays you have to be responsible. I would not be driving through certain areas at ungodly times at night or even in the day for that matter. Crime here tends to be fairly localised, you just gotta know which hot spots to stay out of and don't get involved with shady characters and deals. Many of the casualties over here are people who were themselves mixed up in illegal activities. I am not saying that innocents don't get hurt but life here is not the war zone the media and some dramatic people would like the rest of the world to believe. I personally have encountered more criminal activity directed at my person while living outside of Jamaica than in the 25+ years I grew up here.

Enjoy your new ride, I won't be able to get mine for a good while, at least not until I return to Jamaica permanently. Where I am now the customs duties on cars are ridiculous so purchasing one and eventually shipping it back home is not even an option. I am a very patient man though and I know in my heart she will be mine soon |

My wife and I love Jamaica. We were in St Anns twice in 1 year a while back.
Now, having a NUR spec GT86 AND being in Jamaica, just wow! You must be in Kingston based on the height of the fence around the dealership. Such a shame but I guess Jamaicans are the type of people that find a way in if they really want to. On a related note, watched the Bob Marley documentary on Netflix New Years Day.
