Apparently it is a NorCal thing. You may want to reconsider your travel plans.

My HOA sent out a mass communication a few weeks ago about parking violations and reiterated all of their rules for parking, overflow, and driveways. Apparently, maintaining your car must be done entirely within your garage, but my garage is super skinny, barely wide enough for my car.

I've swapped winter and summer tires a couple of times in my driveway already without any fuss, even ran my air compressor when I switched to my summer wheels this year. I don't have anywhere else to do this and I sure as hell ain't paying anyone anymore. I guess I'll keep doing it until they single me out?

Did they specifically say you can't maintain the car in the driveway? My COA says maintenance can't be performed in parking pads, meaning shared spots. Many residents thought that meant the driveways, but so long as a car isn't left inoperable in a driveway for a vague "prolonged period of time", they're fine with performing work on it.

I'll have to double check, but I'm pretty sure the wording was "all work must be done fully within the garage" so I'm thinking that means I cannot do it in my driveway. But my garage is way too thin to change the tires.

My lease covers oil changes and everything else, so literally the only thing I need to do to my car, right now, is change the wheels.

Yeah, just keep doing what you are doing. HOA's, with rare exception, are filled with busybodies with nothing else to do, and they create rules just to give themselves a feeling of importance. I luckily live in a neighborhood with a voluntary HOA, and they aren't a bag of d*cks.

just swap the wheels in the driveway. it's a quick job and would be very dangerous to even try in a narrow garage. it's not like you're doing real major work.

The nanny threads are turning into the same garbage as the pulley threads turn into. Everyone is right, no one is wrong and everyone spouting off about they are the authority on the subject.

I once stirred the pot (accidentally, even!) in a tuning thread. The resulting argument got two vendors banned.
