the irony of this thread is that in the title there is the word "FACTS" in all CAPS. looks like a lot of you are buying into these "facts".

Hah, yep, that was me. I gots the FT86 plates (I still see them as being valuable, they teased us with enough concepts bearing that name!)

Edit: Oh, and thank you so much Leeky. Hope you can clear up some of these concerns over the next couple of days, but hope you have a great time in Japan mate! Enjoy every second of it and live the dream for us all!

There are very few cars nowadays that are 100% hand built... you have to look into the crazy super cars for that. If just the engine is 100% hand built I can believe that.

Toyota pricing the car just to break even sounds about right...since this car was never meant to make much money for them anyways. It's basically made as a rolling advertisement to get people actually excited about the Toyota brand again.

1000 units annually worldwide is hard to believe. If it was 1000 units for JDM and maybe 3000 units for USDM + XXXX for the rest of the world that sounds more like it. If it was 1000 units total worldwide...that's once again super car like exclusivity.

Yeah the LFA production is like 20 units a month.

1000 units a year is like 83 cars per month! Why even have two trim levels? Should be one like in the LFA...

At 1000 units per year you will be able to buy a 86 and sell it for double the price...lol

I agree with all of this. If we're talking 1000 units world wide this car is going to end up costing much more than anyone was anticipating.
