Thanks for the updates Leeky! I believe all the info that you're relaying, I'm just wondering if the production numbers they're going with are just for Toyota, or for all three brands world wide. Either way I'm starting the search for dealers!

Shizuoka looks nice. Those production numbers don't.
I'm wondering if there are post-earthquake production/supply issues still. So maybe first year 1000 only?

Leeky! Good work man. I have a request though. Next time you see Toyoda tell him to make another supra and a successor to the GT-Four. I truly hope they are just pulling your leg on the handbuilt, 1000 per year thing.

hand built and 1000 units a year is insane and lmited. i bet there are already well over 1000 pre orders. i wonder if they have told dealerships to stop taking pre-orders.

There might be a waitlist but doubt Pre-ordering has been opened on Toyota's ordering system. |

Well time to place hopes on Subaru, possibly Scion though if they think 1000 units is gonna save Scion well that's wrong. I still think its 1000 for Japan and or something else well find out in a day or so. thanks Leeky.

Thanks Leeky!!
Maybe since the USA has 2.35 times as many people as Japan, we will get 2350 cars?

It could be that the "hi-spec" model is limited to 1000/yr, or even a special edition that has a special interior or badging.

i'm a toyota fan boy for sure i just hope that there factors involved with production.
and you're probably right about that tranz. either way i'm super excited about this car i just hope i can still afford it. hand mande sounds pricey. i wonder if only toyota is hand making it and if that means that subaru isnt and would scion possibly be pulling their cars from subaru? |

Even if its 1000 for Japan and 1000 for each market...that is still low numbers. Chances are you won't be able to get one. There are over 1,445 toyota dealerships in the USA. I think there is a Scion dealer in each one. I could be wrong. There are 7 Scion dealers in my city area.
Well at least you won't see them driving around like a dime a dozen... |

Is the Nissan GTR hand made? Opps I found it..only the dual clutch gearbox and engine is handmade in the current GTR. From Wikipedia... "Production model GTR Also the engine and rear-mounted dual-clutch gearbox are built by hand, thus limiting production to around 1000 cars a month.[13]" The LFA is completely handmade...they make 20 units a month.. From Wikipedia... "Only 500 total LFA models will be made worldwide, with only 20 produced each month. [45] Each LFA will be hand-built by a dedicated production team of engineers and specialists at Toyota's Motomatchi plant in Aichi, Japan.[46]" |
