Playing certain files on my USB stick causes head unit to restart

Ive seen others have issues on this problem and suggesting resolutions. Unfortunately, they havent worked for me but Ive discovered some things while troubleshooting.

Ive used a 128gb PNY stick for a year now, with hundreds of files, with no issues. A couple days ago, I loaded three more files (40-100mb each; long DJ mixes) and I started experience problems.

Mix 1 plays just fine

Mix 2 take a while to load (30 sec) but plays eventually but it causes my head unit to restart at times

Mix 3 takes even longer to load, and when plays, is sometimes missing the track info (artist, title, etc.) and causes my head unit to restart at times (more often than mix 2)

I tried this on two different brand USB sticks with the same issue; though on one stick, it took far less time to load the files. I reformatted one of them to FAT32 and reloaded the files with the same issue. I also tried moving the files to different folders but got the same issue.

Could it be corrupted files? They both play flawlessly on my computers. These are the only files that are causing issues. I'm thinking of re-encoding them and trying it again. This is driving me nuts...

Try mp3 and split them into shorter mixes.

Perhaps the mixes are too long and the headunit can't read file sizes up to a certain limit? I haven't read up much on the specifications of the HU on both cars since I simply use auxiliary cable or bluetooth.

Pretty sure its in the manual somewhere, but I'm too lazy to find it.

What is the encoding for the mp3/flac files?

I had some issues with reading mp3s and I just re-encoded them and they worked fine
