Those weld sections could be deliberate. If you use a bender there is a pronounced curve at each change of direction. By doing it their way, you get a straight run up to where it changes direction instead of a sweeping bend. They might have done it that way to avoid clearance issues.

Beatrush confirmed that they are in the middle of testing for a catted version, but they did not release any other information to me this time. They said they will let me know as soon as testing is completed.
