Plasti-Dipped Wheels

I hated the original 2 tone wheels, one of the first things I wanted to do was make them solid black.

Pics:

First day: It was snowing/sleeting

After detail:

Plasti-Dip: (it's raining today)

Retook some photos with my camera when the sun came out:

I like the white car with black accents look. I think I'm going to dip my chrome fender trim too.

Great job man. This is only helping me more to stick with the stock wheels and plasti dip them instead. Doesn't hurt that I will save around $1,000 too . Did you go with a glossy black or matte? It looks matte but I can't tell for certain. Also, did you get the entire wheel kit from dipyourcar.com that includes the pre-dip spray and brake masking bags? I like it a lot!

I went to home depot and bought whatever black multi purpose plasti dip they had. Used about a can and a half for 5 coats. I made sure to clean the wheels thoroughly beforehand.

I was looking at getting new wheels too until I saw what dipped wheels looked like. The problem with the stock is more the 2 tone than anything else. More offset would be nice, I think you can get plates for that?

Wait what?! That is all you need? The pre dip spray and all that is unnecessary?

I have no idea how long this will hold up. It's easy to just do it again. Takes 2 hours

That's not orange though, that's gold/bronze.

I'm colorblind, hence why black and white color schemes work well for me.

Did you flip the wheels over and do the inner section or just spray the face of the wheel?
