Rattling noise coming from both doors, not speakers
Hello guys, recently I have noticed this problem become more louder than usual. I honestly have no idea if it was always there, but I'm assuming not, because now it's embarrassing if I have a passenger since it's really noticeable. The noise comes from both doors, seems to sound like tiny rocks falling down or as if tiny rocks were being thrown at the side of the car. The sound occurs with more movement, bumps/turns make it occur especially, it's usually when I start the car and drive initially for about the first 10-15 minutes.
I searched for this issue and only found speaker rattle issues, which I'm certain is not what I have, since it goes away and doesn't effect my music whatsoever. I understand this isn't a high priced sports car, but I don't think this is normal. Any idea what this is? Thanks |

Odd that both doors reflect same problem being two dif pieces. Sure it's the doors? Check your back seats, they have a tendency to come off the latch the same time

Hmmm, I don't think so. Only because it literally sounds as if someone is pouring little rocks into the doors from the top, and they are making their way down. It goes away after some driving, but it's loud |

Maybe you have a "Friday car" and there actually is gravel inside the doors. Pull the door cards and use a long thin attachment on a shop vac and suck the stuff out. Many many moons ago my dad had this happen with an Oldsmobile station wagon. It was fine for the first few years but over time as the paint degraded that held a bunch of little washers in place they broke free and would rattle around inside the bottom of the door until they settled into a spot after a few miles of driving. The only thing we could ever figure was they were put in there at the factory during assembly because we had never pulled the inner door cards.

Will test tomorrow hopefully. Today I paid extra attention and it seems it comes from the floor board side as well, not just the door.. I think I'm going to take it to the dealership to get it checked out |

I also have a annoying rattle on my passenger side that may or may not resemble what you are hearing. I can recreate it by pushing/pulling on the door handle; its basically plastic creaking. Can you recreate the rattle with the car stationary?

It wouldn't matter if the exhaust is correctly fitted or not. If the exhaust is loud, there will be parts that will resonate with the exhaust

You might check to see if your door handle screws are loose. I had an annoying rattle from my passenger door. After I took it apart, noticed that the most likely cause was the metal strip at the door handle interface.
If the screws holding the handle on are loose, it will allow the metal strip to rattle - which is quite annoying. You'd have to remove the silver trim on the door handle to get to the 3 screws. But you can check if it's loose just by pulling/pushing on the handle. There shouldn't be any movement. BZ |
