I was thinking of getting to Okinawa this time for a couple days, but based on some super brief research it would've been just a little too mild. I think temp averages are around 70 F, but water temp would be a bit on the cool side, unlike Hawaii this time of year. Would've been nice but I figure I'd prefer going when the water temp is also nice, so will have to wait till next time (maybe late summer/early fall?).

Last year when I went to Japan I kind of did a whirlwind trip of Tokyo -> Gunma -> Kyoto -> Sapporo -> Tokyo, with usually 3-5 days in each place with the exception of Gunma, which was a single night trip to hit up Mt. Haruna.

So this time knowing that I wanted a break before the new job starts I decided to really only stay in Tokyo without as much jumping from place to place.

Next time I go after this, I would totally like to go to Kobe, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka. Maybe Tokushima, etc. Make it more of a traveling trip.

Yeah I wouldn't recommend it. When I went a couple years ago at this time it was too cold. Mid-October is good, not unbearably hot, and the Naha great tug-o-war is the same weekend as Ginowan Octoberfest this year

I reckon my childhood "store lunch counter" experience was a bit different.

My grandfather would take me to the feed mill with him. He would buy me a coke and sit me up on a stack of fresh ground sacks of chicken feed (which smelled good) on the loading dock which was in sight of the cute little farm girls that would come in.

Life was gooood!

I already have plans to meet up with some 86 guys I met and have kept in touch with from my trip there last year, as well as someone else I met with an R34.

Found out there's a big car show called Automesse in Osaka while I'm there, so I booked a hotel for a night over there so that I can go.

Also trying to see if I can go to Fuji Speedway.

Pretty excited!

Except for the small chance of contracting coronavirus.

Maybe instead I can just contract a kawaiijapanesegirlvirus. (jk)

I remember those chest type soda macines. We would go up with a church key and a straw and quickly get brain freeze sucking up a free soda before we got caught.

We were little shits.

I went to see Manson last year. Thought I would stand out but since it was the tour with Zombie there were a pile of old farts there.
