Newbie Questions
Ok. Some newb questions about the exhaust so go easy on me..
1) Someone mentioned that the stock overpipe has a bit of restriction, is that true? 2) I have HKS 4-2-1 Headers installed > STOCK Overpipe > STOCK Front pipe > HKS CBE Which idea would be better for my setup? - the Motive overpipe(main concern is with the overpipe 'fitting' with the system. - or custom made overpipe? Thanks

1) Stock overpipe is 2.118″ like the rest of the stock exhaust and has sharp bends along with an area with a big crimp. 2) are you changing front pipe as well? if so, which one are you planning to get? if you are not planning to change your front pipe then i don't see much point getting overpipe. i don't like mix and match as there is higher chance for fitment issue. Custom made is a good idea to avoid that problem. |

Does anyone know or have had a custom front pipe made up for their 86 so far? I might possibly get that done.

yes. it's a bit like the pipe on the stock catback before the muffler. there is a crimp on it reducing the diameter of 2.118".

Just had my overpipe fitted today(MOTIV).
My exhaust setup is: HKS Headers > MOTIV overpipe > STOCK front pipe > HKS Cat Back So for anyone going a similar route.. the MOTIV will bolt up to the HKS Headers and the stock front pipe nicely. Next week will be different though.. HKS Headers > MOTIV overpipe > HKS catless front pipe > HKS Cat Back
