Good old Puma t shirt with band on the sleeves. Every film I watch from that time has people wearing t shirts that have that kind of sleeve.

Some folks will tell you differently, but I've always just followed the manufacturer's recommendations in the Owner's Warranty/Service Manual. For the FR-S, its every 7,500 Miles.

Hey @Dadhawk, your fuel door was being wonky right? What was the fix for that? Mine seems to open every other time I pull the latch.

Mine only ever acted up the one time, after that no issues, so I didn't go any further looking into it. Still don't like it though!

My theory is that this was around the time t-shirts started becoming "normal" outerwear so the bands let everyone know, hey, this ain't no undershirt this is a real, fancy shirt. See, it's even got color bands on the sleeves and collar.

Someone did suggest looking at the tab and perhaps bending it a bit one way or the other. That might help.

Just ran out to the car to make sure, but they look as good as they did the day I installed them. No issues with any oxidation and such that I see. I've been very happy with them, particularly given what I paid for them.

Thanks, it seems @russv and some others may have reported some oxidation issues with the screws. Not sure though, might want to look through the thread on them. There was a pretty long thread covering everyone that bought them.

Spring is in the air!

(Updated mileage figures in the OP of this thread)

Given the "PollenStorm" color of my FR-S I can say I safely made it through my first Atlanta "winter" with the summer tires on my car. I really had intended to swap them out for at least some all-seasons but in the end I never really felt the need.

Of course, it helped that we didn't really get any ice/snow this year to speak of, and on the few days we did, I just didn't drive or I drove the Suburban.

I guess we'll see how things look when late Fall rolls around again. Maybe I'll spend that money on something else instead. Hmmm....

If you're thinking of FI like you mention in your original post, maybe getting a tune would be a good addition. Are you still on the same pace to be off warranty next february? It seems to me like a tune is the best way to make any sort of extra power/add driveability short of a supercharger.

Still on about that same pace (2/2014), although that's really the 32K bumper-to-bumper warranty. The 60K drivetrain would be late 2015 at the current rate.

A tune is definitely something to consider though.
