Bumper to Bumper Car Show (11-19-14)

Bumper to Bumper Car Show (11-19-14)

I was asked by Autokozmetix if they could include my car at the Bumper to Bumper Car Show over the weekend. I was apprehensive at first because my car is a daily driver, my paint is not show quality. My car also does not have show car mods which would make it look bland next to the wild show cars.

What did persuade me to join is that Big Bert's Detailing was sponsoring the entries with a full interior, engine bay and exterior detail and paint correction. The OCD clean freak in me was nodding excessively when I accepted the invite.
After talking to Mike of Autokozmetix, we decided to focus on the performance mods and the TRD parts the car has.

Here are some shots of the prepwork before the show:

The show was a success, even if there were some rain showers. There were almost 400 cars in attendance, and a lot of car show models also. The show was well attended, and there was even a MMA fight in the middle of the show grounds. Fellow forum member @NIKDENG also joined the show under Autokozmetix. He owns the exquisite red BRZ with the HKS Supercharger and air suspension.

Here are some pics of the event:

Some other cars:

It was a good show for Autokozmetix, hauling off some trophies in the wee hours of the morning. My car won 2nd place in the "Best 86" category!

Congratulations Tye, but I still believe that your car without a doubt was the best 86 out there in the show. It should have won 1st.

Vic, you're welcome! I think I'm going to enjoy the car as it is now. I have it more or less where I want it. I will address the AT cooling maybe early next year. I'm happy with the Vortech already, will stay supercharged.

MSA 2 Gauge A-Pillar Pod (12-08-14)

MSA 2 Gauge A-Pillar Pod (12-08-14)

Since installing the Moto-East Flex fuel kit, my dash has been a little more cluttered for my taste. This is because of the ethanol content gauge added to the lot. Due to the layout of the GT86's dashboard, you don't get a lot of options mounting gauges.

I've already used the steering column area with the cravenspeed pods, and the only way was to mount it beside my AFR gauge, which kind of blocks visibility.

I was checking the classifieds and saw that @Dave-ROR was selling his MSA pods. After some paypalling, I was a new owner of an MSA dual gauge pod.

Install was relatively easy, with only the green clip and wire extending posing some difficulty. My 52mm gauges fit perfect in the pods, and the pillar clipped on perfect.

This is my first time using an A-pillar pod since I long thought they looked ricey and blocked visibility. In this case though, the pillar pod integrates the gauges to OEM-like levels. I really like this mod! No more exposed wires and stuck on gauge pods!

Hey Tye! I'm just re-subbing to your thread since my other ID has had some 'user access' issues lately. We've chatted a few times in the past. Glad to see you continuing to push the boundaries boss!

Hey Tye, have you happen to get on the dyno and see what you are putting down on pump gas yet with the 3.12" pulley?

Just got my 3.12" pulley yesterday...can't decide if I should wait until I am utilizing the WMI kit, or just throw it on there and enjoy it as much as I can on pump gas.

Hey bro,

No I have not visited the Dyno yet. Holiday season here and most of the shops are closed. I will finish the tune probably after the new year.
I'm sure you can use the pulley with pump gas, it won't be on the edge as the 2.87. Good luck!
